The self-made man or woman is very popular. It shines like a bright star in this country. Yet it is my take that we all need each other, I like to say no person is an island. You can’t give birth to yourself.
As we travel the spiritual highway, we are tempted to say, I am going it alone. First and foremost we all travel the spiritual highway with Jesus. He is our companion and our GPS.
Central to traveling the spiritual highway is living out the great commandment. It is truly powerful to love the lord your God with all your heart, mind, and strength, but let us also remember to love our neighbor as ourself.
Sure it might be easier to travel alone. Traveling with people takes time and effort, but I can’t think of anything more satisfying and rewarding than traveling with others. I like to say that the energy of our human connections causes the world spin. Society is at its best when each and every individual is free to share their God given talents with one another in perfect harmony.
