The older I get the more I see that I don’t have a monopoly on truth or morality. My heart and mind are too limited I am subject to my own personal biases and prejudices. I have no business passing judgement on others. Judgement is for the Son of Man who will come on the last day to separate the sheep from the goats.
I find it helpful to listen first to where people are coming from to find out not on what they feel but why, and then share my personal thoughts and feelings. I don’t get into competition with others to prove that I am right and others are wrong. I don’t know what this accomplishes. I will leave debating to the lawyers and politicians. I do though find the meeting of minds very exciting and liberating.
I am mindful that 100 years from now, if someone should read my writings, they would say where is he coming from? This gives me humility in thought, word, and deed.
No person is an island. We are all inter-dependent on each other. Our diversity is our strength. Working, playing, and loving together we can accomplish the impossible and further building the Kingdom of God here on earth.
