I may be showing my age, but I can remember when social discourse was polite, cordial, and civil. It was all the dignified sharing of ideas, examining them for their merit, comparing and contrasting ideas with other ideas. It wasn’t divisive, but helped bring unity to the country, state, or local community. We have come a long way from that, but it is never to late to return to a more civil time.
