Spiritual Highway

In this world today, we hear people talk about toughness, physical strength, and hardness. They talk about going it alone and being strong. What do people want most in this in this pandemic–something totally different. People miss the hugs and kisses from friends and family. They miss the direct physical contact–the soft touch. Texting, calling, Skyping, and Zooming can only take us so far, we need that physical touch. We are made for physical contact, the sharing of affection. Sheltering-in-place is so unnatural and painful. Many struggle with issues of isolation and loneliness because it hurts Our hearts tug at us to return to a kindler and more gentle time. Thoughts of a mother holding her newborn infant come to mind. As does a groom kissing his bride at a wedding. Many of life’s problems would be solved if we practiced more tenderness and softness.
