For work, I wrote an article on trust and self-advocacy. A staffer from the Department of Developmental Disabilities read it and was greatly impressed. She envisions a 45 minute PowerPoint presentation on trust and how it relates to major life areas–family and friends, school, work, intimate relationships, the delivery of services, and I added finances to round things out. She wants me to take the lead on this venture and get back to her in two weeks. My work plate is pretty full as is, and I really don’t feel I have the expertise to intelligently discuss the swath of trust issues. I believe trust is very important topic and needs to be discussed more than we do. I will work on the project and see how things develop, let it be, and be at peace with that.
