Spiritual Highway

When this pandemic hit, I was worried that because I was single, I wouldn’t be able to make it. Much to my surprise, I discovered friends I didn’t know I had and they did me favors that greatly helped me out. I offered them money to reimburse them for their time and expenses, but they refused to take it. It paused me to wonder what is it about friendship that they would do such things. I concluded it comes down to love.

Then I turned to the web for more on going support. I lined up Meal’s on Wheels to make life easier for me regarding cooking and shopping. I then lined up Shipt.com to do my grocery shopping. Finally, I then lined up a friend from church to take to Rite Aids to pick up my prescriptions.

I also bought a Mac mini and an iPad to help me work from home. There are clear advantages to work from home. The biggest one is not having to deal with the commute, but I do miss my co-workers.

Staying connected with friends and family and building closer ties was the single most important thing I have done during the pandemic. I was no longer lonely. We shared our days, our hopes, successes, as well as frustrations. It isn’t rocket science, but it helps us get by.
