Spiritual Highway

I can’t remember the last time I made an entry. Much has happened in my life and in the lives of everyone else. We are dealing with, masks, washing hands, social distancing, and shelter-in-place. We have to deal with a lot of uncertainty and fear. We are dealing with so many major problems all at once that we are left with all manner of frustrations.

People marvel at how well I am coping with it all. The answers aren’t really that complicated or sophisticated rather they are really quite simple. The first is to stay in touch with family and friends be it phone, text, email, Zoom, FaceTime, or Skype. No person is an island. The second is to stay active, for example exercising. I limit the amount of news I watch. Eat healthy meals. Listen to good music and read books. Engage in your favorite hobby.

Most importantly I pray to Jesus and the Virgin Mary. Amid all the chaos. in prayer you can find the cool, still waters of peace. Rejoice God is always with us, comforting us, sustaining us, and renewing us. The pandemic won’t last forever. There will be a time when we can hug and kiss family and friends. Now is the perfect time to grow in love, compassion, and hope.
